Help! I'm in a slump!

HELP!

I have tried my darndest to get into a book these days but...darnit, i just can't do it. So I need your help out there. Here are the books that I have started for my mystery challenge and for the life of me, I can't seem to get passed 40 pages on any of them.

Have any of you read these?

Do I move along on any of them?

Or do they all just stink?

Or is it just me?

HELP!

So Cold the River by Michael Kortya

Before I go to Sleep by S. J Watson

Half Past Dawn by Richard Doetsch

Trespasser by Paul Doiron

These are the letters of the alphabet I have NOT read yet for my challenge. Two books that are really starting to be good, Lethal by Sandra Brown and The Nightmare Thief by Meg Gardiner. But guess what? I've already completed those letters.

Grr Arrgh. My challenge is haunting me!!!

What to do fellow bloggers? What to do....

Happy Reading and as always, thanks for stopping by!

I had only read Before You Go to Sleep, it has potential but fell a bit short. Just above average for me (review: http://mentalfoodie.blogspot.com/2011/06/book-review-before-i-go-to-sleep-by-sj.html)

What letters do you need suggestions? Look at your side bar (if it's current...)...

R = Human Bobby by Gabe Rotter. Not classified as a mystery but it reads like a thriller (and there's a missing child).

D = Revelations by Laurel Dewey (this is the 3rd in the series but I quite enjoyed it - http://mentalfoodie.blogspot.com/2011/06/book-review-revelations-jane-perry-3-by.html)

V = Think of a Number: A Novel
by John Verdon http://mentalfoodie.blogspot.com/2010/10/book-review-think-of-number-novel-by.html)

I haven't read the following but they were recommended to me from Marce:

K = Twisted by Andrea Kane

I've had the same problem recently. Good Luck. I have no idea because I'm still out of sorts.

Oh Michelle, I was just in a slump also, stopped reading 3 books, finished one I didn't enjoy. I even turned to a Verse novel which is my simple pleasure and couldn't complete it, eek.

Well, I will say, we have similar taste, so don't bother with Before I Sleep, we will be in the minority though.

Shame to hear about Half Past Dawn

Why don't you go for the A-I like me, you will complete the challenge then. (D) I highly recommend Harry Dolan. And I have Greg Iles for (I) which I have never tried but during Thrill Week he was highly recommended.

I break slump by quickly changing gears. Try something in a completely different genre. That always helps me. Good luck!

I haven't read any of those, so I have no opinion. But if you aren't enjoying them, don't finish them. Slumps suck!

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
