Guest Reviewer: The Husband

Good Evening Everyone!

What do you all think of Guest Reviewers?

I've toyed with the idea of having my husband review a few books now and then here at red headed book child.

Yes, it is my blog. Yes, I am the big crazy book person in the family. Yes, I do want to continue to have a credible, reliable blog. Yes, I still want to deliver solid, honest reviews.

Well, I think I will still do all this. My husband, when motivated, is a voracious reader. He can read, during a lunch break, 200 pages and then finish the book the next day. I admire him for his concentration and speed! He doesn't judge. He is not picky. He trusts what I recommend to him and he is always honest.

A pretty decent guy I may say so myself. And so I think he would make a good addition to my blog on a very occasional basis. (once a quarter?) I strive to have variety on my blog and my husband can jump genres without batting an eye.

My passion is to recommend and talk about books and having this blog feeds that passion. If I can have a little extra hands in the book basket, it's all good for me.

I am going to continue to post on my sidebar what he is reading and leave it up to him which book he wants to review.

Profile: The Husband-
His name is Sean. He is a fix it guy. He is a musician. He is a great father. He is an amazing cook. He loves to garden. He hates to clean. He enjoys piles. He always has dirty socks but manages to always smell nice. He drives a truck. He hates to shop. He is super smart. He rubs my feet every night.
And he is all mine. :)

What do you guys think?

Will you all still love me tomorrow? (don't you just love that song?...Dirty Dancing comes to mind...!)

Aww, your hubby sounds quite a bit like my boyfriend, who can be a speedy and dedicated reader too when he wants to be! And he wanted to guest reviews some of his books on my blog too, hehe, but I wasn't really up for it as I don't want fantasy and crime on my blog, lol. I'll be looking forward to your husband's reviews then! :)

Well, I will always remain in control and if I don't want it posted, it won't happen.(wink) Luckily the first one he will review is a mystery and that is one of my favorite genres. We'll see how it goes. !

Wow, Sean sounds like a guy's guy--but wait, he's a musician and he reads. But he drives a truck--but he's willing to guest post on your blog. He sounds like a pretty great guy! And I am so, so jealous that he gives you a foot rub every night! Bring him on board!

Your hubby sounds awesome! Any man who will rub your feet every night could write anything he wants! I think it is very sweet that he wants to share blogging/reviews with you. Sounds like the man of the century to me!

I think it would be very cool to have him guest blog for you sometimes! Looking forward to it!

He rubs your feet every night? So does mine! That makes him a KEEPER - and he can review anything he likes.

I think it would be fun and great for the two of you! Get him involved in the process and in something that's big in your life.

I think it would be great for him to be a guest reviewer. I envy you that you have a husband who likes to read. I wish my husband would read, but alas... Some people just don't know what they're missing!

I think it's a cute idea!! I've thought about it but not sure my DH would want to.

Your hubby sounds like a great guy. =) And yes, I love that song too!

My fiance is going to guest blog for me once in a while. He already comments as Spoon Licker. He likes reading and writing so I talked with him when he talked me into starting a blog.

I can't wait to see the selection and read the review!!!! what a way to keep us on the edge of our seats, madame!

Michelle (Red Headed Book Child) said...

You make such a nice looking family!!! I wish I could get my hubby to read some of my books and do guest reviews, I could get twice as many done...but alas, that is not ever going to be an even remote possibility... But that is great for you!!!

I'm so jealous of the foot massages right now.

Michelle (Red Headed Book Child) said...

Krista and Ryan, the foot rubs rock! AND he watched New Moon with me last night. :)

Kathleen, thanks for the compliment. All I know is that we made a good lookin' kid!

Christine said...

DEFINITELY let him guest review now and then.. even more than once a quarter would be fun. Just make sure he knows as soon as he steals the spotlight, though... he's outta here! ;p

I'd love to see you two do a duo-review together on the same book. THAT would be fun! Especially if you disagree! LOL!

Michelle (Red Headed Book Child) said...

Christine, that is funny you mention that because that is what HE suggested we do too sometimes.
It was so nice "chatting" with you the other day! Hope your weekend was fun.

Mel (He Followed Me Home) said...

hehe this is so cute! Wait - he rubs your feet every night? You've got a keeper, can you clone him LOL
